Is the first woman Executive Director and General Counsel of Maruti Suzuki India, a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation Japan and the leading car manufacturer in India. Manjaree made a mid-career shift from academics to law, beginning her legal career at a leading Indian law firm, then moving in-house to General Electric before joining Maruti Suzuki.
A successful professional with 25 years of experience, she has been General Counsel across diverse industries like Industrial and Manufacturing, Healthcare Services, Power and Auto spanning Indian, South Asian and the US regimes. Manning roles with increasing scale and complexity, Manjaree works closely with the Board of Directors and Leadership teams to provide strategic legal and compliance support in a dynamic regulatory and risk environment.
Manjaree has been recognised at different prestigious General Counsel fora - BW Legal World’s Top 100 General Counsel Club of Achievers for excellence in law (2021), the Indo-UK Law Society, Legal 500, the Indian Corporate Counsel Association, and General Counsel of Year (Female) 2020 by Legal Era and most recently was the winner of the 2021 WeQual Asia Pacific Award in the Business Security category.
She is a guest speaker at some of the top business and law schools in India like IIMB, NLUD, Ashoka University, OP Jindal Law, Asian Law College. Her articles and views have been published in prestigious global magazines.
