Dr. Sanjeev Gemawat

is Group General Counsel at Vedanta Group. He has almost three decades of experience with Indian entities of globally renowned corporates like Dalmia Bharat Group, DLF, JCB, Olivetti, GBC & Modicorp.

He has been honoured as Top 100 General Counsels of India in various prestigious General Counsel lists released by Forbes India, Business World etc. He has been honoured as one of “India’s finest in-house counsels”, the “Most Influential Corporate Counsel and Company Secretary” and also inducted to “Global Hall of Fame” for his contribution to the legal ecosystem in India and the world. He is also a visiting faculty of Institute of Directors.

An acclaimed speaker and author on varied contemporary legal and industry specific issues, Sanjeev has shared his views at various national and international conferences. He has been a part of various committees/delegations constituted by industry/professional bodies and interacted with multilateral trade bodies.

Dr. Sanjeev Gemawat is one of the founder members of GCAI and is serving as the Treasurer in the Secretariat. He has been advocating for the statutory recognition of the role of General Counsels and is closely working with other founder members on strategy and action points for the same.
