GCAI hosted "The General Counsel : Strategiser, Enabler and Protector" on Friday September 15, 2023 at The Library, The Bangalore International Centre, Bengaluru. The theme of the event was seeking recognition for General Counsels and Inhouse Counsels as an area of legal practice, at par with international norms, including legal privilege. This is the third series on the same topic after Mumbai and Delhi.
The event was blessed with a stellar cast of speakers and was inaugurated by Prof (Dr) Sudhir Krishnaswamy, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru. Prof Dr Krishnaswamy was in full support of the efforts made by GCAI in seeking recognition for GCs. His presentation on changing role of Law and the role GCs will play in its implementation, was very well received.
GCAI also felicitated contributions by eminent legal personalities, who graced the event with their presence namely, Sajan Poovayya, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India; CR Muralidharan, Senior Partner, Dua Associates; Ritvik Lukose Co-Founder and CEO of Vahura; Suneeth Katarki, Founding and Senior Partner IndusLaw; Harish Narasappa co-founder of DAKSH.
The event was graced by some eminent general counsels from Bengaluru and Hyderabad, who pledged their support to the cause of GCAI. GCAI is very proud of the GC community for their support and endorsement.
