Manjaree Chowdhary is one of the founder members of the GCAI and currently serving as President. She is the first woman Executive Director and General Counsel of Maruti Suzuki India, a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation Japan. A successful professional with 28 years of experience, she has been a general counsel across multiple industries including manufacturing, healthcare services, power, and the automotive industry; manning roles with increasing scale and complexity.
She works closely with leadership teams and the board of directors and to provide strategic legal and compliance support in a dynamic regulatory environment, and has been recognised at different prestigious General Counsel fora - BW Legal World’s Top 100 General Counsel Club of Achievers for excellence in law (2021), the Indo-UK Law Society, Legal 500, the Indian Corporate Counsel Association, and General Counsel of Year (Female) 2020 by Legal Era. Most recently, she was the winner of the 2021 WeQual Asia Pacific Award in the Business Security category.
She is a guest speaker at some of the top business and law schools in India like IIMB, NLUD, Ashoka University, OP Jindal Law, Asian Law College. Her articles and views have been published in prestigious global magazines, and her resolve towards seeing the goals and ambitions of the Association to fruition is an important driving force.
